BigID Data Intelligence Platform Now Available on Google Cloud Marketplace
BigID, a data security and identity governance solutions provider, this week announced that its BigID Data Intelligence Platform is now available on Google Cloud Marketplace , empowering organizations to have greater visibility and control into their data. With more organizations needing help understanding where their data lies – much less getting control of it across all of their cloud services – the partnership between BigID and Google Cloud enables them to automatically discover sensitive data across global accounts and ephemeral resources on Google Cloud. Organizations can find and inventory sensitive data across Google Cloud services, including Google Drive, Cloud Storage, Gmail, BigQuery, Cloud Bigtable, Cloud Spanner, Datastore, and Cloud SQL.
State of Maine Impacted by Global MOVEit Security Incident
The State of Maine is notifying individuals that it was affected by the global cybersecurity incident concerning the file transfer tool, MOVEit. The State is among several thousand organizations impacted by the software vulnerability in MOVEit which allowed cybercriminals to access and download data. This global incident affected a wide range of industries, including insurance, finance, education, health, and government.

As we already know, at least one of these events happened due to an accidentally misconfigured URL link. Raising public awareness, educating employees, and implementing standard security measures (such as data encryption, multi-factor authentication, or routing traffic through VPNs) are good recommendations for increased organizational security. However, they are hardly enough today if one does not employ open-source intelligence.
